Had a wonderful time at Shangrela Beach Resort with my wife. ❤️🌊It was a great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for a peaceful getaway, and we truly enjoyed our time together. The service was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious with good options to enjoy.Most importantly, we felt that the overall experience was definitely worth the money. A lovely place to spend quality time with your loved one and enjoy a relaxing break.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice beachside getaway. We would definitely love to visit again! ❤️🏖️

We had a pleasant stay here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The highlight was definitely the beautiful sea view, which included a great look at the harbor entrance.However, the room condition was just average and could use a little updating.Overall, a nice experience mainly for the service, dining, and views of superior Roo. Visited for a budget friendly day outing with my colleagues. It was definitely worth the money spent. Although the property has a limited area, it includes a swimming pool and a room for guests, which added great value to the experience. Overall, the facilities and services provided were good for the price, making it an enjoyable and worthwhile outing.

Spent a weekend getaway at this place. The room, food, and location were all satisfactory compared to the price. A good place to try if you’re visiting the Ambalangoda area down south.

Advantages: The beautiful building, the location near the beautiful beach and the cozy town. The environment is very authentic. The nice pool and staff.
The rooms are very spacious and have a nice view. Disadvantages: There is overdue maintenance and that is a pity. Otherwise it would be worth a 10+!
But it is being refurbished according to the staff.
We would like to come back next year.

We had a rest together in this hotel in February -March 2026. We liked the hotel, we had 101 rooms on the 1st floor. Yes, the rooms are not very clean, there is a musty smell in the shower, the shower door is on 1 hinge, the wooden towel dryer is broken, (there is no one to fix it, you need a hammer and nails, or a screwdriver) there was no safe and refrigerator in the room, but you can ask them to keep fruit and lemonade in their refrigerator in In the bar, they won't refuse. The room has a fan, air conditioning, three lamps, one light bulb was off, a mirror, a table, 2 chairs. The bed and mattress are normal, the bed linen and towels have been changed upon request. The floors in the room were washed by themselves, because every day sand from the shale from the beach. If you ask for cleaning, they will clean up (they will fix the curtains, sweep the floor, close the toilet lid, fix the bed) . The staff is young people, some men, (there are no women), all friendly, smiling, answer all requests, solve any questions. The hotel has a good location, near the beach in the bay, there are no big waves, there are also restaurants nearby where you can have lunch or dinner, a fish market, a bus station, a railway station, banks and shops, pharmacies, a KFC, a supermarket. The hotel itself also has a restaurant, but the prices are more expensive than the others. We had breakfast included. Cats (a lot) and dogs (1,2 constantly nearby) live on the territory of the hotel, we also met a monitor lizard, geckos, a peacock flew in. The pool at the hotel is periodically cleaned, disinfected and the water is changed. We would definitely come here again.

Courteous and kind staff, great beachfront location and good pool.The only problems encountered are the outdated rooms (the worst tried in 15 days on the island ), missing mosquito nets and swimming pool that would need maintenance as the rooms.The beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom unpresentable.For the rest the kindness of the manager and deputy made me evaluate to give them 5 stars.
